Joan...Having met you and Dick only briefly when your sister, Sr. Jean, introduced us
those many years ago, it was apparent that yours was a solid and very rich relationship. You were both gracious and kind individuals who made a lasting impression.
It is my prayer that those six decades you shared have left scores of outstanding memories that will sustain you and your children now and always.

...Having worked with Dick for many years at Bristol, I am saddened by his passing. He was an outstanding employee and more than that a fine man. He was a leader who was respected and admired by all who knew him. My deepest and sincerest sympathy is offered to Dick's family. As you grieve your loss, know that through his work to develop lifesaving drugs, through his leadership of others, through his attention to others needs, and through his kindness to all, he has left a special legacy and contribution to all who knew him.

Although no words of sympathy
Can ease the loss you bear,
Still may you find
some comfort
In the thought
That others care.

May you see God's light on the path ahead, when the road you walk is dark, may you always hear, even in the hour of your sorrow, the gentle singing of the lark, when times are hard may hardness never turn your heart to stone, may you always remember when the shadows fall you do not walk alone.

My deepest sympathies to you Joan and your family.

I am thinking of you at this difficult time. There isn''t a day that goes by I don''t have fond memories of our past shared. Mike and Tom have always been great friends to me. I didn''t know your dad very well, but I am sure you boys had a great dad to be as special to you as you boys have been to me. I love you both my friends. I share your sorrow this day and hope the clouds will pass and sun shine in your lives soon. Keep well my friends and I will always remember the sunshine your dad brought me having you as my friends.

I was so upset when I had come in for my next shift only to hear that Mr. Kirsch had passed away. I enjoyed taking care of him and loved the family's company as well. I will always remember giving him a morning shave that was much needed and seeing how thankful his wonderful family was for just one simple little thing I did. I would always come into Richards room and hold my cheeks up to make a smile and get him to laugh ( he rarely smiled at us nurses); always brightened my day. Richard will always hold a spot in my heart. God Bless his wonderful family.

Mrs. Kirsch and Family: I only heard of Mr. Kirsch''s illness recently and of his passing today from Tom. Our recent conversations brought back fond memories of years past, having spent an abundence of time with your Family when I lived in Fremont. I can honestly say that your example helped guide me through the tougher years of young adulthood. My deepest condolences to all of you, as I can only imagine what it must be like during this time, having lost a core member of the Family.
