Carol R. Hunsicker

Carol was the oldest of four children born to Martha (Marquette) and Lt. Colonel Thomas

McGuigan on February 25, 1938, in Flushing, New York. Carol was an “Air Force brat”,

attended high school in Burtonwood, England and graduated from Kaiserslautern High

School, Kaiserslautern, Germany in 1956.

Carol spent most of her career as a receptionist for Dr. Robert Zimmer OB/GYN in North

Syracuse. After retiring, she worked part time at St Joe’s Hospital Gift Shop and was a long-

standing board member for the condos at Watertree.

Carol is survived by her 5 daughters and their families: Julianne Hunsicker of Hutto, Texas

and her children, Zachary and Scott; Kim Sellwood, her husband Bruce of Truxton, and their

children Tom and Adam; Lauralee Shafer, her husband Steven of Chittenango, and their

children Nicole, Mathew and Corey; Kristin Allen, her husband Richard of Kirkville and her

daughter Amanda; Melissa Koch of Niagara Falls and her children Ryan and Nicholas; and 8

great grandchildren.

Carol enjoyed cooking for her family, playing golf, making ‘donations’ to the local casinos

and traveling/cruising with good friends and family.
