Dean Baker, 64, of East Syracuse, passed away April 12, 2024. Dean was a Paramedic for over 30 years working with several ambulance services including NOVA, Eastern, Rural Metro and was well known across the EMS community. He was also a previous Assistant Chief with Minoa Fire Department. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret (Kerr) Baker. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Zesky) Baker, his children, Danielle Gaston (Aaron Gunther), Helene Baker (Devan Coon), Kristine (John) Capellini, Stephanie Baker-Loope (Jeffrey), Brian Baker and Lindsay (Donald) Campbell and six grandchildren.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-9pm in St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10am in St. Matthew’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
Dean worked a lifetime saving people's lives. In his death, he donated his organs so that others could live. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to UR-Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network.
