Arthur C. Alderson, 87, of Liverpool, passed away April 22, 2018. He was born in Rochester, NY and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Art retired from New York Telephone after 37 years of service. He was a member the American Legion, VFW , Korean Vets and the DAV. Art was an avid fisherman and hunter, but one of his favorite pastimes was to spoil all of the kids in his life. He wouldn't let a day pass by without a bowl of ice cream for him and Grace. Art will be deeply missed by all of his loved ones. He was predeceased by his son, Gary, his parents and his sisters, Sally Alderson and Elvina O'Donnell. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 66 years, Grace Burke Alderson; his daughter, Susan (James) Daly; his sisters, Frances Sylvester of Liverpool and Mary Ellen O'Donnell of Carlisle, PA; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday April 25 at 11am in St. Matthew's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are Wednesday from 10-11am at the church prior to the Mass. Donations in Arthur's name can be made to Alzheimer's Assn CNY Chapter or a charity of one's choice. Arthur's family would like to thank the staff of Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the help and compassion they provided to Art during his brief stay.
