On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, the stars looked very different when Kathleen G. Thorne, age 70 of East Syracuse, NY, became the brightest one among them. Her journey to stardom was a beautiful and peaceful one.
Kathy was a lifetime resident of East Syracuse and High School. She was employed by Arcom Labs as an Assembler, until her retirement in 2011. Kathy was enterprising when it came to her greatest joys which were her family, friends, her pets, playing the acoustic guitar, listening and dancing to music, photography, cake decorating, rock hounding, astronomy, all things Star Trek, using her very green thumb while gardening and tending to her houseplants, and nature walks. She especially enjoyed walking along Onondaga Lake as well as hosting many family picnics and birthday parties there.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Charles W. Wiley and Minerva G. (Skellington) Wiley. She leaves her most precious legacies to cherish the memory of her; beloved daughters, Betty and Tom Ellison of Manlius, NY; Tammy and John Lewis of East Syracuse, NY; and Deb and Bill Meyer of East Syracuse, NY. Her grandchildren, Amanda Ellison (Jonathan Smith) of Oswego, NY; Christopher and Valerie Ellison of Newburgh, NY; Daniel Ellison of Manlius, NY; Justin and Ashley Miller of Canastota, NY; Jason Miller of Dover, Delaware; and Jeremy Miller (Maggie Appel) of Dover, Delaware. Kathy also has a great granddaughter, Sophia G. Smith of Oswego, NY.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time. “Mom, you have been, and always shall be, loved.” The family would like to thank Kudos Medical, specifically Tina Romer, LPN and Dr. Ife Ojugbeli for their years of care and support of our mother.
