Robert A. Dehm, 96, of East Syracuse, passed away April 15, 2018. He was born in Syracuse and was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church. Bob was a US Marine Corp veteran serving during WW II. He retired as crew chief from Niagara Mohawk after more than 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed playing horseshoes with the East Syracuse Seniors. He was a self taught unicyclist and loved riding his bicycle on the Erie Canal. Bob and his beloved wife Jeanne, who predeceased him, were group leaders for Marriage Encounter.
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Post and Melynda Dehm both of East Syracuse; his granddaughter, Kyra (Edward) Ellis and his great grandchildren, Dakota Knapp and Damien Ellis; his siblings, Kenneth Dehm of Batavia, Raymond Dehm of Deland, FL and Anna Mae Herholtz of Minoa; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 am in MATHEWSON-FORANI FUNERAL HOME, INC. and 1030am in St. Matthew’s Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 206 Kinne St., East Syracuse.
