Robert “Cisco” Francisco, of East Syracuse, NY passed peacefully at home of natural causes on 4/27/2014 at age 83.. Born on 4/26/1931 to Raymond Jesse Francisco and Mary Dulaski Francisco, he is survived by the love of his life, Eleanor Edwards, 2 brothers; Raymond Francisco and Claude Woolridge, his 7 children; Daren, Tewantesere, Roberta, Kia, Robin, Ronnie and Nicole, several nieces and nephews, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Richard Francisco, a daughter; Christal Francisco and 2 grandchildren.
He was an adventurer possessed of a quick wit and inexhaustible determination which carried him across the globe and to great heights. His stories of survival in several near fatal situations are a testament to his courage and will power. Also a man with a generous heart he was a father figure and “grandpa” to many. His career as a climber began in the early 1950's as a solo steeple-jack and ended as the owner of Francisco Tower, Inc. at his retirement in 2008. He was one of the first members of the Syracuse Skin Diving Club and a member of the original “famous five” tower erectors. He was a longtime member of Ironworkers Local 220.
A memorial service will be held at St. Lucy's Church 432 Gifford Street, Syracuse, NY on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 10:00 am.
