Robert E. "Butch" Quonce

July 18, 1943 ~ December 27, 2018 (age 75)

Robert E. "Butch" Quonce, Sr., 75, of East Syracuse, passed away December 27, 2018. He was born in Syracuse and was a US Army Vietnam veteran. He was employed by the Village of East Syracuse Highway Dept. for 34 years before his retirement. He was predeceased by his father Harold and brother Ray.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Falcone Quonce; his sons, Robert, Jr. (Dawn) of East Syracuse and Christopher (Vicki) of Kirkville; five granddaughters, Brittney (Zach), MaKenzie (Killian), Gianna, Natalie, Mya and a great granddaughter due in February; his mother, Edna Quonce of Kirkville and a sister, Amy (Dallas) Mosher, of Oswego, a sister-in-law, Lynn Quonce and several aunts,uncles, a niece and a nephew.   

Butch was an avid NASCAR fan and a model train buff. He enjoyed spending summers at their camp on the Seneca River with his family. Butch was a life member of East Syracuse Fire Department and EAVES Ambulance. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 359.

Funeral services are Monday at 11am in MATHEWSON-FORANI FUNERAL HOME, INC. Burial will follow in Collamer Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6pm at the funeral home, 206 Kinne St., East Syracuse, NY. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to EAVES Ambulance or East Syracuse Fire Department.  Leave a condolence for the family on the Tribute Wall
