Suzanne E. (Wight) Abert

Suzanne E. Abert, 74, of Syracuse, NY passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2019.  She is predeceased four months to the day by her husband Robert E. Abert.  She leaves to cherish her memory her son Robert G. Abert (Michelle) of SC, her daughter Debra Gascon (Jim) of Marcellus, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and extended family in MA and CA. 

Although she was born in Monterey, CA and raised in Hull, MA, she spent the last 56 years in Syracuse and still spoke with a Boston accent.  She had a big heart and was kind to all.  She was everyone’s rock.  Her absence has left a void in all of us.  She spent most of her life as a child caregiver.  Every child she took care of was special to her.  She loved fishing with her husband, playing the slots, bingo, and especially her family.  She was deeply loved by her family and will be so sorrily missed. Her smile always lit up the room.  Her hug, her look, her “Honey, I love you” cannot be replaced. 

There are no services at her request, however, friends can join the family in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 19th, at the American Legion, 13 E. Main St., Marcellus from 1:00-4:00pm. Leave a condolence for the family on the Tribute Wall
