Terry Lee Morgan, 68, of Syracuse passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 3rd, 2019.
Terry was a graduate of Lafayette High School where he achieved great recognition on both the baseball and football fields. After graduating, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1968 through 1971. After being honorably discharged from the military, Terry worked for Miller Brewery and Cannery from 1976 until the plant closed. He then went on to work for New Venture Gear until his retirement in 2011. Throughout his life, Terry was an active member of the Nedrow Fire Department, volunteering his services for 39 years and serving as chief from 1993 to 1994.
Terry was an avid hunter and fisherman who passed his love for the outdoors on to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed collecting coins, always on the lookout for a rare piece to add to his collection and share with his grandchildren. His family will fondly remember the many evenings spent playing cards or board games together. Whether vacationing with his siblings in the Outer Banks or fishing with his grandchildren off the dock at his camp, Terry loved spending time with his family. He was a selfless man who put his family first, especially his wife, Nancy, whom he lovingly cared for since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease several years ago.
Terry is predeceased by his parents LeRoy and Edith Morgan and his brother, James (Judy) Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy (Stoddard) Morgan; his siblings, Dick (Pat) Morgan, Diane (Bob) Snyder, Michelle (Mike) Welsh, and Shawn (Debbie) Morgan; his children, Holley (Jamie) Cunningham, Kelley (Mike) Strand, Michael (Melissa) Morgan, Danielle (Bryan) Morgan, and Jamel Morgan, his nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Terry will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to be part of his remarkable life. At Terry’s request, there will be no services. Leave a condolence for the family on the Tribute Wall
