Arthur C. Alderson, 87, of Liverpool, passed away April  22, 2018. He was born in Rochester, NY and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Art retired from New York Telephone after 37 years of service. He was a member the American Legion, VFW , Korean Vets and the DAV.  Art was an avid fisherman and hunter, but one of his favorite pastimes was to spoil all of the kids in his life.  He wouldn't let a day pass by without a bowl of ice cream for him and Grace.  Art will be deeply missed by all of his loved ones.  He was predeceased by his son, Gary, his parents and his sisters, Sally Alderson and Elvina O'Donnell. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 66 years, Grace Burke Alderson; his daughter, Susan (James) Daly; his sisters, Frances Sylvester of Liverpool and Mary Ellen O'Donnell of Carlisle, PA; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday April 25 at 11am in St. Matthew's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are Wednesday from 10-11am at the church prior to the Mass. Donations in Arthur's name can be made to Alzheimer's Assn CNY Chapter or a charity of one's choice.  Arthur's family would like to thank the staff of Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the help and compassion they provided to Art during his brief stay. Grace - We are so sad to hear of Art's passing. We've enjoyed being your backyard neighbors, through the cedar trees, for almost 30 years. Please let us know if we can help out in any way.
Thinking of you,
Karen and Joe Fratianni

Our family is heartbroken over the passing of Art. We've enjoyed having Grace and Art as neighbors over the past 23 years. Art always wore a smile, and was kind to those he met. Heartfelt condolences to Grace and his family.

With Love,

Alec, Jodi, Jordan, Emily and Addy

So sorry for your loss. Art Alderson was a household name growing up. Dad(Dick Satanek), and he had so many wonderful fishing and hunting days together. Art was my Dad's best friend. I remember all of you and hope your healing can begin soon. Dad and Art are now in heaven together fishing up a storm I am sure. Take care.
