Obituary

Adamson Nandi Masingila, 64, died January 28 from end stage renal disease. Born in Kakamega, Kenya to Gideon and Elizabeth Masingila, he came to the United States in 1977 to attend Hesston College (KS) where he earned an associate’s degree. He completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Goshen College (IN) in 1981.

He met Joanna (Osborne) in 1978 and they married in 1981. They were blessed with Moses (1987) and Rebekah (1990) while living in Indiana. The family moved to Syracuse in 1992. Adamson worked on an adolescent psychiatric unit at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis (IN) and as a teaching assistant for OCM BOCES in Syracuse. Adamson is survived by his wife, Joanna, children, Moses (Jennifer Clark), and Rebekah (Emmanuel Hubbard), and two delightful twin granddaughters, Makayla and Mackenzie Hubbard, along with his father, Gideon, stepmother, Truphosa, brothers, Stephen and Gregory, and sisters, Florence, Grace, Edith, Sheila, and Molly, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth, and brother, Jack.

Adamson was a kind, gentle, and generous man with a wonderful sense of humor who was friendly and helpful to all he met. He had deep and meaningful relationships with family and friends in Kenya and across the United States throughout his life who loved him greatly. Adamson will be missed and remembered fondly by all who knew him.
