Alberta H. Pepin (3/27/43 – 12/18/19) of Marietta NY passed at home after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Alberta studied at the Massachusetts School of Art and Pratt Institute. She owned her own graphic arts agencyin Manhattan for over 30 years, designing book covers and advertisements. She was Program Director for the Metropolitan School for the Arts, and arts educator at Hillbrook Detention Center, affectionately known as “Miss P.” For the past 28 years she coordinated the Montgomery Street Arts Cooperative, showcasing local artists and crafters at the Arts and Crafts Festival in Syracuse. She loved gardening and caring for her country home, and could often be seen on her tractor or fixing her roof. She will be remembered by all for her generosity, love of the arts and spunky, “can do” attitude. Rest in peace, Snookie.
