Andrew Zaricznyj Obituary

Andrew M. Zaricznyj, age 53, peacefully passed away on July 10, 2021 after a brief illness. Andrew was a life-long resident of Syracuse, New York.

Andrew is survived by his mother, Jeanne M. Zaricznyj, a brother, Timothy Zaricznyj, two sisters Christine Izzo (John) and Melanie Cifonelli (John), his caregiver and friend of 33 years, Charles “JR” Tifft, nephews, Paul, Jack and David and his niece Samantha.

Andrew was predeceased by his father Orest Zaricznyj in 1984.

Andrew embraced and enjoyed all of the simple things in life. Andrew spent plenty of time with JR’s family at camp and was friendly with everyone as he canvassed the area in the golf cart. He loved attending and watching all different types of sporting events. Andrew enjoyed spending time at Syracuse University football and basketball games, but was also quite content spending the night at the bowling alley or watching events on TV. During the week, Andrew was fortunate to spend time with the caring staff at Galeville ARC of Onondaga Day HabilitationCenter in Liverpool.

While Andrew was a man of few words, his zest for life and smile brought joy to those who worked with him and knew him. Although Andrew’s presence will be missed, his memory and the impact he has had on others will live on.

Andrew’s family would like to extend their deep gratitude to JR Tifft. Your dedication and care for Andrew for over 30 years is unparalleled. You filled Andrew’s adult life with family, friends and experiences that brought him joy and fulfillment.

Services to celebrate Andrew’s life will be a private. .
