Ann E. Ripich passed peacefully on January 18, 2021, just a few days shy of her 88th birthday. Ann was a long time resident of Fayetteville, NY. She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Louis J. Ripich, MD and her son Louis J. Ripich, Jr.
Ann was born in 1933, in Albion, NY. She was one of four siblings, surrounded by a large and loving extended Italian-American family. A graduate of Albion high school, Ann went on to serve as a telephone operator at Sampson Air Force Base where she met her eventual husband and the love of her life, Lou, who was serving as an Medical Airman.
They soon married and settled in Syracuse NY, where they resided for 68 years.
In addition to raising their four children, Louis, Lina, Alexandra and Gregory, Ann attended Syracuse University where she developed her love of Ancient history and literature and Chinese culture and language. Ann was also a prominent figure in Central New York politics for many years organizing charitable fund raising for many causes close to her heart.
Ann will be best remembered for her deeply admired loving and devoted marriage and her love of cooking and entertaining with friends, family and neighbors.
Ann loved and was deeply loved by her four children:
Louis Ripich, Jr. (deceased); Lina Ripich of Boston, MA; Alexandra Donnelly,DCSW of San Diego, CA, (husband John Donnelly, Esq.); and Gregory Ripich, MD of Skaneateles, NY. (wife Kelly Springer, MS, RD.). Ann also was the beloved grandmother to 8 grandchildren: Katherine, Kianna, Nicholas, Conor, Thomas, Haley, Charlotte and Zachary.
