Audrey A. (Wolstedlund) Thieke

Audrey Agnes Thieke (nee Wolstedlund) passed away on December 18, 2020. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Gerda and by her brother and his wife, Paul and Doris Wolstedlund. Audrey is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Henry Thieke; her three sons and their wives, William and Trish, Robert and Adrienne and Jeffrey and Kathy; seven grandchildren, Scott (Alissa), Shawn (Kelsey), James (Lucy), Thomas (Kristen), Emma, Erin and John; two great grandchildren, Rowan and Lucy Magdalena "Meg".

Audrey recently moved to The Nottingham Senior Residence in Jamesville, NY from her home in Hendersonville, NC, where she had lived with her husband since 1991. She was a long time resident of St. James, NY where she raised her family. Audrey lived to love her husband and family. She was creative and strong, loving and kind and had a strong faith in God and family. Audrey spent her time traveling with her husband and making countless hand-made gifts for family and friends. Her family's homes at Christmastime are all decorated with her hand-knitted stockings and other loving crafts, all of which are greatly treasured. She loved word searches, watching her "soaps" and dancing with  her husband. She baked the best chocolate chip cookies cookies (her "chippies"). She coordinated an annual reunion with all of her family every summer in Sandbridge, VA where she spent time with all of her children and grandchildren. She was truly the glue that held the Thieke family together, as noted by her husband.

A Funeral Mass was held at Holy Cross Church and burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
