Bernard K. Fontane (Bernie)1962-2024
Bernard K. Fontane, 61, of Liverpool, passed on, Wed. May 8, 2024, at Upstate University Hospital with his life partner at his side. He was known for his big heart, quick wit, and his zest for life. He lived life on his terms, and having fun was a priority. Bernie worked at several industries over the years, most recently as a Quality Control Supervisor at SAAB Defense. Over the years, he played bass guitar in some local bands, lastly Hard Drive. He loved to travel, concerts/music, football (he was a lifetime Dallas Cowboys fan), nascar, and the ‘Cuse Orangemen. Bernie also enjoyed his side-job as a DJ for a variety of events in the regional area. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends.
He was predeceased by his Mother, Albana Marion Fontana (2004), his 3 sisters, Carole Krause (1988), Constance (Connie)Thompson (1988), Sheila Mcintyre (1995), and his brother, Ronald Gary Fontana (2015).
He is survived by his loving partner of 22 years, Katherine (Kat) Neville, his beloved daughter, Samantha L. Fontane (Mario Baric), his brothers, James R. Fontana (Cheryl), Richard Fontana (Dee), many nieces and nephews, his partner’s children and grandchildren and many friends who will miss his physical earthly presence.
There will be no formal services, or burial; he was cremated per Bernie’s last wishes. He was/is a Hero, he selflessly potentially saved the lives of several others by being an organ donor.
Donations may be made to the Innocence Project, St. Jude’s Hospital, Donate Life America (donatelife.net) or to a local animal rescue/shelter.
Go Cowboys !!!!
