Carol G. Heimburg, nee Carol J. Gillman, of Syracuse, NY, rejoined her late husband in the Lord's eternal care on 18th January, 2024.
Carol was born 9th August, 1937 in Watertown, NY to Luther C. Gillman and Rena (Bates) Gillman, who relocated to the Syracuse area a short time later. She graduated from Solvay H.S. in 1955, and from the school of Education at Syracuse University in 1959; soon afterward she married Richard W. Heimburg, of Tonawanda, NY.
An avid gardener, passionate educator, and dedicated volunteer coordinator, she was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her older sister, and two younger brothers, and is survived by her two sons, John R. Heimburg of Olympia, WA and Gyr W. Heimburg of Syracuse, NY, five grandchildren, her brother David Gillman and his family, her sister Judi (Gillman) White and her family, her sister-in-law Gail (Heimburg) Mitchell and her family, and by several cousins.
Her deep devotion to family is beautifully evident in her recorded research into family history, preserving both the records and the stories, giving the gift of our past generations to us, to pass on to the next ones.
Few people manage to be so stubborn and tenacious so gracefully and tactfully.
