Cheryl (Adamy) Miron, of Fayetteville, New York, passed away tragically on April 12, 2026. She was 79 years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Murray S. Miron.
Born October 7, 1946, in Syracuse, New York, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Howard E. Adamy and Dorothy E. Adamy.
Cheryl earned both her Master’s degree in Computer Science and her Master of Social Work from Syracuse University. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), she dedicated her career to helping others. She worked for many years as a counselor at Liberty Resources in Syracuse. She also worked with at-risk youth through the Onondaga County Probation Department and with domestic violence offenders at the Jamesville Correctional Facility. Cheryl also maintained a private practice until very recently, continuing her commitment to those in need.
She had a love of reading and was rarely without one of her Kindles, always eager to dive into a new book.
She is survived by her son, Murray T. Miron; her brother, Howard E. Adamy and his spouse Jane of DeLand, Florida; her niece, Rebecca (David) Hammon of Elmira; her nephew, Brian Adamy of Elmira; and her great-niece and great-nephews, Ariel, Aidan, and Logan.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 21st from 11:30am-1:15pm at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, Inc., 206 Kinne St. East Syracuse, NY.
