Christopher Fondy Obituary

Christopher Fondy aka Christopher Michael Acquafondata died suddenly of a heart attack on September 4, 2018 at his home in Syracuse, NY. He would have been 54 on September 27. He graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in 1982 and earned a BS in Biology from Syracuse University in 1986. Chris was a talented musician and composer of piano and choral music. For the past year he was able to devote his life full time to composing. His music can be found on Youtube. He was a member of Erwin First United Methodist Church where he played guitar in the Praise Band. Chris was employed for many years at Upstate Medical University and Syracuse University as a laboratory technician and is listed as a contributing author on several scientific papers. Chris learned to embrace his mental illness and find purpose and meaning on non-traditional terms. Chris will be deeply missed by his father Thomas P. Fondy (Sandra Porter) of Syracuse, NY, his mother Estelle M. Hahn (the late Roger C. Hahn) of DeWitt, NY, his sisters Lynn M. Acquafondata (Francois Piche) of Rochester, NY and Susan R. E. Fondy of Enterprise AL, his nephews Adam S. and Benjamin E Brodie, his housemate Steve Drogo, and several faithful pets. A memorial service will be held at Erwin First United Methodist Church (920 Euclid, Avenue) on Saturday September 8 at 10 a.m.
