Christopher E. “Chris” Gormley, 57, of Liverpool, formerly of Binghamton, passed away Sunday January 3, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse following a long illness.
He was born on September 6, 1963 in Binghamton, the son of the late Margaret H. DeGraff and Edward J. Gormley. Chris graduated from Vestal Central School District and SUNY Health Science Center with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower during Operation Desert Shield.
Chris is survived by his stepmother, Joanne E. Gormley of Endicott N.Y. Siblings: Steven M. Gormley (Laurie) of Hoosick Falls N.Y., Jennifer A. Schrantz (Tim) of Fredonia N.Y., Laurie A. Pastore (Karl) of Milton M.A., and Amy L. Paquette (Art) of Jacksonville F.L. Chris is also survived by an uncle, Timothy J. DeGraff (Patty) of Syracuse N.Y., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chris was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and enjoyed playing guitar, and golfing. He was a talented woodworker, and also loved camping and the outdoors.
Services are private and at the convenience of family. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
