Concetta M. (Irene) Abert

Concetta M. (Irene) Abert, 97, passed away May 21, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of East Syracuse. She was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church and retired after 41 years as an assembler for General Electric in 1984. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings.

She was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Abert in 1998 and her sons, John Abert, Jr. "Jack" in 2009 and Daniel Rubado in 2019. She is survived by her grandchildren, Timothy Abert of E. Syracuse, Daniel Abert of Denver CO, Daniel Rubado, Jr. of E. Syracuse, Lisa Malerba of Florida and James Brown of Brewerton; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 9:30am at St. Matthew's Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.  A calling hour will be held from 8:30-9:30am at the church prior to the Mass. Donations can be made to St. Matthew's Church or Hospice of CNY.
