Dianne M. (Carcasole) Zain

Dianne M. Zain (Carcasole), May 16, 1951 – July 12, 2021 Born in Carthage, NY, Dianne came from a large family and had four daughters. Dianne had a memorable personality, leaving an impression on all that she met. She was open, compassionate, highly social and loved the art of conversation. In recent times she could be spotted from a distance with her signature cotton candy pink hair.

Music was Dianne’s lifelong passion, and she was a celebrated vocalist. Her band The Most was heavily influential in the Syracuse punk scene. Dianne undoubtedly left her mark. She continued to perform even as her health declined. When not performing she loved family karaoke parties, gardening, volunteering at her church and local food bank, her cats, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Dianne displayed an unconditional love for her family that will be dearly missed.

Dianne passed peacefully at home. She is survived by her four daughters, Lucianna, Lisa, Nina, and Cleopatra, and her five grandchildren Anthony, Julia, Saffron, Evelyn and Jasper.
