Edith L. (Brink) Atwater

Edith L. Atwater, 95, the daughter of Spencer and Theresa Brink, passed away on July 7, 2025. Born on March 10, 1930 in Naples, NY, Edith graduated from Naples High School in 1948. She moved to Syracuse, where she met her husband Edward C. Atwater and worked at New York Telephone for 25 years. She later worked at Upstate and Crouse Hospitals in Syracuse, then at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua until her retirement in 2004. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and at camp, loved her dog Kylie, and was a Chuck Norris fan.

Edith is survived by her son, Alan L. Atwater, grandsons Christopher A. (Kim) Atwater and Daniel P. Atwater, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Edith was predeceased by her brothers Gordon, Clyde and Ronald Brink. Donations on Edith’s behalf can be made to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
