Edward A. Jones

The final sale has been made.  Edward A. Jones, 76, of Cazenovia, known to scour the countryside in search of the next bargain, sale or auction, has passed away on Christmas day on his terms at his home with family.  His kids are convinced that he chose Christmas to pass because he was the ultimate gift! Christmas will forever be the celebration of his life. 

Born to Howard and Alice Jones in September 1942, he was the fourth of eight children to be raised on the Jones family farm in Morrisville NY.  Farm life taught Ed the value of hard work which served him well as a single father, raising six children.  The work rarely stopped but, when it did and there was fun to be had, the Jones Hunt Club was formed.  Ed shared his love and skills of hunting with his sons, daughters and even his granddaughters. 

He is survived by his wife, Erma Jones and his kids, Richard (Winnie) Macheda, Kevin Jones, Tina Fordyce, Kelly (Ken) Schneider, Scott Jones, Marylou Beers, His daughter in love, Daphne Jones, Son in love, Lee Couch, his step children, Desmonde, Laura, Ronald and grandchildren, Jessica Macheda, Jacob Macheda, Jessica Jones, Samantha Beadle, Jeremy Barber, Joseph Fordyce, Jonathan Fordyce, Ruthanne Fordyce, Amanda Fordyce, Nina Schneider, Tyler Schneider, Michael Jones, Racheal Tarkett, Harold Tarkett, Ronald Tarkett.     

Services in celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Saturday, January 5th, at the American Legion Hall in Cazenovia, NY from 11 am – 2 pm.  Please join us in the celebration and breaking of bread while we celebrate and remember the stories of Ed’s life. Leave a condolence for the family on the Tribute Wall
