Erich J. Grosnick, 57, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2026.
Erich was a thoughtful, creative, and deeply caring man whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He earned his degree in History from the University of Florida, carrying with him a lifelong curiosity about the world and an appreciation for the stories that shape it.
For more than 20 years, Erich dedicated himself to his work at All State Stamping in Syracuse, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment. Beyond his profession, Erich lived a rich and creative life. He was an artist, a musician, a skilled woodworker, a passionate gardener and landscaper, and a natural caretaker. He found joy in building, creating, and nurturing — whether crafting something with his hands, tending a garden, or offering quiet support to someone in need.
Erich felt most at peace outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, kayaking, and hiking, especially in the Adirondacks and at Clark Reservation. Nature was both his refuge and his inspiration, and many of his happiest moments were spent beneath open skies and among the trees and water he cherished.
He is survived by his loving mother, Bonny French; his father, Richard Grosnick (Jude); his brothers, Clinton Grosnick (Diane) and Daniel Pontillo (Emilee); his uncles, Bill Grosnick (Michelle), Dave Grosnick (Tanya), and Martin French (Darlene); his beloved cousin, Jessica Dickerson (Adam); his nephew, Collin Grosnick; his niece, Molly Grosnick; and his lifelong friend, Tom Simson. He leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, with details to be announced.
