Obituary
Gary Alletzhauser, 86, of Syracuse, New York, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023. Gary was born on March 15, 1937. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn, and a grandson, Gary. He is survived by a daughter, Tricia, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
Gary lived his entire life in Syracuse and taught at Camillus Elementary and Camillus Junior High School before retiring after 33 years. He loved coins, especially gold ones, and was an active member of local ONA coin clubs. Gary loved his family, and his family brought him the greatest joy, with a cigar and a beer a close second.
His favorite place was the Butterfly Garden of HOPE, and he went faithfully every Sunday to visit with those who passed on before him. A celebration of life will take place in the garden this summer. Anyone who desires may donate to the HOPE Garden in his memory.
