Georgia I. (Evans) Scheibel

Georgia Irma Scheibel, 87, died on Saturday August 17, 2024 surrounded by her family.

During her life, Georgia worked at Carrier Corp., Onondaga County Social Services, and volunteered at St. Matthews School. She was a cheerleading coach for the ESM Football Assoc. and was a member of the East Syracuse Fire Department Auxiliary. Georgia found joy in her children and grandchildren, and was very devoted to her family.

She was predeceased by her son Kenneth Jr. (Sandra).

Georgia is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Kenneth Scheibel, her brother Howard (Dona) Evans and her children Suzanne, Michael (Barbara), Edwin (Ange), Ronald (Elizabeth), her grandchildren Bailey (Nick), Dieter, Olivia (Mustafa), Katherine (Vincent), Barbara Anne, Matthew, Maria, Norah (Joel), Natalie, Ellena, Ronald Jr.(Candice), Rosemary (Diego), Benjamin, and her great-grandchildren Aubrianna, Jocelyn, Korhan, Rowan, Georgia, Jack, Luke and her dear friend Nancy.

Calling hours will be on Friday Aug. 23 from 4-7 pm at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, Inc.,206 Kinne St. E. Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held for Georgia on Sat. Aug. 24 at 10 am at St. Matthews Church, E. Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Hospital.
