Grace E. (Burke) Alderson

Grace E. Alderson, 88, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.  Born in East Syracuse, NY, Grace was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Burke, and sister of the late George Burke.  In 1952, she joyfully married the late Arthur C. Alderson.  Grace loved to travel with Art and she loved to watch the stock market.  She was employed by the Department of Defense for 20 years.  Grace and Art were the proud parents of the Susan (James) Daly of Red Lion, PA and the late Gary Alderson.  Grace is survived by her daughter Susan, sister-in-law MaryEllen O’Donnell of Carlisle, PA and sister-in-law Frances Sylvester of Liverpool, NY, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Matthews Church, 229 W. Yates St., E. Syracuse, NY.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt.  There will be a calling hour at 9:00 am in the church prior to the mass. The family would like to thank Grace’s aide, Diane Bourgen, for the constant care and compassion she bestowed upon her.  They would also like to thank Bishop Rehab and Nursing Center for their support and dedication given to Grace throughout her residency.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of CNY, 441 W.
