Henry “Hank” Surowicz, 101 of Lakeland NY went to join his beloved wife Maryann on January 23, 2026 with his daughter holding his hand..
Mechanic and tractor trailer driver he was a Teamster of the Local 317 and Teamster Retiree. Being a Teamster meant the world to him.
He later went on to be a groundskeeper for Pope’s grove and found his love of golf.
Aircraft Artillery Sergeant in WWII he came home to find and marry his soulmate. They were together for 70 years. Their love was the kind we all aspire to.
He was a member of VFW and The Moose Lodge
There was nothing he couldn’t make or fix. He was 49 before he had a garage for his loved Cadillacs and to have a workshop. Being outside working or mowing was his greatest pleasure.
He lived his entire life in Lakeland and was proud of that fact.
He is survived by his daughter Shannon Surowicz, his niece Lucinda Risley and the light of his life grandson Mark Pollock.
He always said he wanted to be cremated and his ashes sprinkled over Onondaga Lake
He has lived with the lake in his backyard all his life.
His wishes will be honored.
There will be no services.
