Jacqueline Hannah Doughty, 81, of East Syracuse, NY passed away at her home Friday September 23rd surrounded by the people who loved her. Jacqueline was born August 30,1941 in Manhattan NYC to Pearl Jeanette and John "Jack" O'Donald. She spent her youth growing up in Leominster, MA until moving to Syracuse's Valley area in her teens.
Jacqueline was a graduate of Cathedral High School. She was a woman of great faith and spiritual strength. She made an impact on her community by dedicating herself to the children and families she worked with through the YWCA. For over a decade, she was a Program Coordinator for the after school programs and in 2003, she received the "Betty Bentley Employee of the Year" award for her exceptional work. Jacqueline was a woman with a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew her. Her children will love and miss her forever.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Lieutenant Albert J. Doughty. She is survived by her children, Albert J. Doughty III, Denise Doughty, Matthew R. Doughty (Stacie Halstead); grandsons, Albert Jose Doughty and Christian Derrald Doughty, Lily Pearl Doughty and Jacqueline Mackenzie Doughty.
A Funeral Mass will be Friday September 30th at 11am at St. Matthew's Church. A Calling hour will be from 10-11am at the church prior to the Mass. A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion, 205 Cypress St. Liverpool, NY 13088 from 1-5pm.
