James F. Switzer

James F. Switzer (Jim), aged 75, passed away on October 27, 2024, at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Born on October 7, 1949, James dedicated many years of his life to his work as a mechanic, driving tow truck and retired from Moore's Tires. He was a graduate of ESM High School.

Jim enjoyed time with his family and friends. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR and liked to be outdoors hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his five children, James G. Switzer, Lorie A. Mahady (Tom), Raymond S. Switzer (Kim), Michelle L. Bartlett (Joe), and Sharon S. Switzer. He also leaves behind four sisters, Judy Husted, Linda Dano, Karen Cooler, and Ellen Weaver; four brothers, Frank Switzer, Steven Switzer, David Backus, and Jack Switzer; eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James R. Switzer and June P. Switzer (Strong), his daughter Tina M. Graham, and four brothers, Danny Switzer, Glenn Switzer, Charles Switzer, and Earl Switzer.

Calling hours will be held at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, 206 Kinne St, East Syracuse, NY, on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 3 pm to 6 pm. Private funeral will be held at a later date.
