We mourn the passing of Jean C. Geddes of West Monroe, New York. Jean's departure on June 19, 2021 at her home in West Monroe at the age of 82 is a loss felt by many. Jean was married to Alan R. Geddes Sr. for 64 years before his death in February of this year from COVID-19. After an extended battle with COVID-19 and its after effects herself, she has finally found peace and joins her husband in Heaven for whatever is next. Jean is survived by Alan (son) and Angela Geddes Jr.; Linda (daughter) and Bob Zientek; George (son) and Teri Geddes; 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Jean was a devoted wife and mother. She shepherded her family through numerous moves as her husband was reassigned to various bases in his career in the Navy. She did an incredible job raising a family while her husband was away for months and even years at a time. She loved reading, knitting, crocheting and the Mets. Her afghans, blankets, sweaters, and Christmas stockings are legendary and remain as a testament of her skill and passion.
Jean will be missed by all. Given the current circumstances there will be no funeral service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in the name of Jean C. Geddes to American Parkinson Disease Association which helps to provide the support, education, and research that will help everyone impacted by Parkinson’s disease live life to the fullest.
