Jean Kelty Wrobbel

Jean Kelty Wrobbel, 83, of Apex, NC, passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by her family, on April 3, 2026, at WakeMed Cary Hospital in Cary, NC. Jean was born on December 13, 1942, in Syracuse, NY, to the late Francis and Kathryn Kelty. She graduated from Assumption Catholic Academy and began her career as a secretary at Niagara Mohawk before dedicating herself to raising her family as a beloved mother and homemaker. During that time, she also utilized her skills as a freelance typist from home. In later years, she returned to the workforce as a member service representative, where she found great fulfillment helping others, eventually retiring from Duke Raleigh Hospital.

In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Wrobbel, and her brother, Robert Kelty.

She is survived by her children: Timothy Wrobbel; Dennis Wrobbel and his wife, Cheryl; and Maureen Haynes and her husband, J.C. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, one step-grandson, and two nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, Inc., 206 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt, NY.
