John Hancock Obituary
John V. Hancock, passed away May 25, 2021. He was born in Syracuse, NY August 12, 1940 and was a graduate of Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH and a graduate of Syracuse University. Mr. Hancock was employed by Anheuser Busch Company as a Supervisor in the Packaging and Shipping Department at their Baldwinsville Brewery. He was a member of the Grasse River Club for more than sixty years and a past President of the Club as well as past President of the Grasse River Association. Mr. Hancock was also an avid photographer and attended many craft shows in the local area as a vendor.
He was predeceased by his parents, A. Van W. Hancock and Martha Smith Hancock. He is survived by longtime friend and companion, Shirley E. Burns formerly of Altmar, NY; his daughter, Alexandra Hancock Anthony and his granddaughter, Ava Elizabeth Anthony both of Fayetteville, NY. He also has a sister, Martha H. Olech and a niece and a nephew. Private services.
