We know now why our dad always had a picture of Jesus laughing next to his bed. It was the expression on his face when our father arrived in heaven. John is singing loudly now in the heavenly choir with his mother, Kate, tending to the roses with pa, Harold and having a good beer with favorite mother-in-law, Grace. I imagine our sister, Monica is learning a few unexpected things she missed when she snuck out on us. He is sharing a joke and cigar with his brothers, Dick and Jim and most likely arguing with his sisters, Joan and Anne about something stupid like who is more stubborn. He awaits patiently and feverishly for his love of 67 years, Audrey and his children, Valerie (Joe), John (Karen) and David (Kathleen). He misses his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John accomplished much in his life.
He was a CPA which we jokingly referred to as a constant pain in the ass. We really meant caring positive attitude. He traveled with Audrey to many places throughout their life together. He had a beautiful home and was a friend to all. John was ready to make his trip alone this time. He had prepared his entire life. John was a simple man who simply loved people. He was a comfort to all and made everyone feel comfortable. God blessed John in a very special way in that he too made everyone feel special. John was born on July 4, 1934. He was a true firecracker. The real deal! We miss him fiercely already but hear him whisper, "Nolle timere"..."Don't be afraid." Love you dad always.
There are no services as he wished.
