John P. Rizzo

John P. Rizzo, 65, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024. John was born June 27, 1958 in Syracuse, NY to the late Victoria Pisani and Philip Rizzo. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rebecca (Butler), sons Nicholas (Melissa) and Michael (Alexandria), brother Patrick, sister Maria (Fritz), 3 grandchildren, and his loving aunts, uncle, cousins and their families. Per John’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

John graduated from Henninger High School in 1976, and he worked as a cook in several restaurants and diners in the Syracuse area, including Le Moyne Manor where he met his wife Rebecca. He also worked for New Venture Gear, and most recently has been working as an independent courier in Central New York where he has enjoyed driving with the windows down, the radio up, and checking in on all of his favorite regular customers.

Of all of the jobs John has had over the years, his favorite job was being a father, grandfather, and husband. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor, his larger than life personality, and his love for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
