Home with Jesus, our beloved John Scott Wagner known as Scott (born Nov 23, 1963) passed away in his Syracuse, NY apartment Wed March 20, 2024 at the age of 60.
Scott is survived by his three sons Andrew (Casey) Wagner, Christopher (Michelle) Wagner and Daniel (Jessie) Wagner
as well as his grandson Aiden, granddaughter Ariana and former wife Kathleen Lonergan. He was preceded in death by his father Pastor Paul Wagner of Believers’ Chapel and is survived by his mother Pauline Wagner, his brother Mark (Jacqueline) Wagner and two nieces Sommer and SarahJoy Wagner, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and former Lonergan relations.
John Scott Wagner was born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil where his parents served as missionaries. He attended Oswego High School and SUNY Morrisville College. He was a gifted master carpenter and cabinet maker. His love and dedication to fine craftsmanship is evident throughout many Syracuse homes and businesses. He attended Believers Chapel for many years where he served wholeheartedly. Scott was a gentle, warm, and loving person. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved people from all walks of life and felt deeply for those less fortunate. He was unashamed to proclaim his hourly need for Christ and leaves a legacy of faith, compassion and craftsmanship. He will be greatly missed.
