Kent M. Strait

Kent M. Strait of Syracuse, NY passed away on February 7, 2022.  He was predeceased by his father, Roger Strait  in 2006 and his brother, Clinton Strait in 2016. Survived by his loving wife Kim; 4 children, Mark Danieu, Justin, Rebecca and Ryan Haynes; Mother, Isabelle Strait Dalton (Robert); sisters Katrina Dolan (Chuck Liberatore) and Julienna Thrall (Brian); several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Kent was a loving husband and father. He departed this life peacefully after a long and courageous battle with a debilitating illness. Kent was a good friend and will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew him.
Well known as a talented carpenter he also enjoyed fishing and golfing. Kent played lacrosse in high school and was known for his intellect, quick wit and amazing sense of humor.
Kent, fondly known as Papa, leaves his children with many great memories to cherish. His oldest son, Mark and the youngest, twins Ryan and Rebecca would like to share their thoughts.
Mark: Kent was a great father figure to me and my siblings. He was always there for us, when we needed him. No matter what, Kent always knew what to do for us when we had problems. I will miss him dearly.
Ryan: I loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers games with my Papa. I liked to help him work on fixing mechanical and projects around the house. He also taught me how to fish. It was fun fishing with him. I loved my Papa very much and will miss him.
Rebecca: My Papa and I were very close. He was a good father. I loved him very much and will miss him.
