Leona M. (Weaver) Wagoner

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful friend left this world on the 23rd of December 2022. Born to the Weavers in Watertown, NY on September 4, 1932. She graduated from high school in 1949 and shortly thereafter met the soulmate and love of her life, Marine Corps Soldier, Leon J. Wagoner (deceased) and was married 3 days later. As time went on, the two would become a bustling family household of 7 when Brenda, Leonard, Cheryl, Michael and Leo were born to them. Leona’s home would soon become known for having a front door that was always open to friends and family. Hard work, along with camping, fishing, outdoor barbecues, family gatherings at friends around the swimming pool, weekend games at the kitchen table are just a few of those memories. Leona also loved music, cooking, and probably had at one time or another every family pet imaginable and known to man. 

She passed peacefully knowing that she would soon be with her savior, the lord Jesus Christ. She leaves behind her 5 children, their spouses Danny, Mary, Pete and Anna, one sister Vaughn Ali, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and close friends Steve and Tracy Santimaw. 

A memorial service will be held in Leona’s Honor at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, 206 Kinne Street East Syracuse, NY 13057, on January 21, 2023, at 2pm.
