Linda Skellan Obituary

Linda A. Skellan, 81, died April 26, 2021, after complications from a fall at her residence in Syracuse, NY. She was born February 16, 1940, in Lockport, NY, the daughter of Robert W. Skellan and Beulah R. (Zoss) Skellan. Linda graduated from Syracuse Central High School in 1958 after which she was employed by Crouse-Hinds Corporation followed by Blue Cross-Blue Shield of CNY where she worked until retirement . She was a generous and gentle spirit with a ready wit. She dearly loved her niece, nephew, 3 grand nieces and her extended family of relatives. Linda was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fayetteville, where she served on the church council.

She is survived by her 3 siblings, Robert Skellan (Susan) of Sarasota, FL, Susan Seltzer (Paul) of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, and Edward Skellan of East Syracuse. She is also survived by her niece, Kimberly Christensen of El Segundo, CA, nephew, Shane Christensen, of Syracuse and grand nieces, Lee Christensen, Azzah Bensrhir, and Ella Christensen.

Our family would like to extend gratitude to the staff on 6 North of Crouse Hospital who offered outstanding care to Linda through a challenging time. We especially appreciated the care and compassion of Peter Sinatra, NP, whose attention to the family during a very stressful time was way above and beyond our expectations.

A linden tree will be planted on the grounds of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in loving memory of her life and serving as a symbol of renewal and rebirth. Donations in her memory may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7248 Highbridge Road, Fayetteville, NY, 13066 or on the website, goodshepcny.org.
