Margaret E. “Peg” Green, 84, of Minoa, passed away August 7, 2022 while vacationing with family. She was born in East Syracuse and was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church.
She was a graduate of SUNY Cortland was a teacher at Minoa High School, left to raise her family and returned to teach at East Syracuse-Minoa High School. She was co-owner and operator of Green’s Hardware with her husband and was the first female justice in the Village of Minoa. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren and enjoyed flea markets, garage sales and gardening.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Margaret Moore and her siblings, Phillip, Rosemary and Chuckie.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Charles Green; her children, Kathy (Dennis) Marcely of Chittenango, Ernie Green of N. Syracuse and Chuck (Laura) Green of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday Sept 9th at 11am in St. Matthew’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minoa. For animal lovers, donations in Peg’s name can be made to CNYSPCA.
