Marilyn Pavia Steiler passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
She is survived by her loving husband John Peter Steiler, her daughter Carol Lynn Steiler and son-in-law James, her son John Jay Leonard Steiler, her grandchildren Nicolas and Alex, her sisters Janet and Carolyn, along with many family members and friends who loved her deeply.
Marilyn dedicated more than 15 years working in the East Syracuse Minoa School District as a lunch lady, where she was known for her kindness, hard work, and the warmth she brought to the students and staff she saw each day.
She loved dancing, spending time with family, and creating memories with the people she cared about most. She will be remembered for her strength, love, and the care she gave to everyone around her throughout her life.
She leaves behind memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A family gathering and memorial will be held to celebrate her life Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Matthewson-Forani Funeral Home from 10-12 with graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery.
We love you, Mom. Fly high and rest peacefully.
