Mark J. Mossman

Mark Joseph Mossman, 58, of Syracuse, NY, went to be at Peace with God on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Upstate Hospital.  Mark was a man of many talents, he competed in three Ironman triathlons; (in Lake Placid NY, Panama City, Fl and Cazenovia, NY.) He was a published author, an artist, a foody, a kite flyer, a car fanatic, a fixer of many things, but most importantly a friend.  Mark was born in Rochester, NY and lived in Lake City, PA, Cazenovia, NY, Manlius, NY and Syracuse, NY. 

Mark graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1983 and SUNY Morrisville in 1987. He was a proud Eagle Scout, an acolyte at St. Peter’s Church in Cazenovia and more recently a volunteer at the Syracuse VA and helped serve breakfast with Red, White & Blue at the Rescue Mission in Syracuse. 

He ran many races, biked thousands of miles, created many things from random bike parts and license plates and made friends wherever he went.  

Mark is survived by his parents, Herbert J. and Susan B. Mossman of Port Orange, Fla.  His fiancée Diane Torrence, of Syracuse, NY, his only child Khloe Mossman of Jamesville, NY, his first wife, Marjorie (Carr) Murray, of East Longmeadow, MA, his second wife, Tanya (Heard) Mossman, of Jamesville, NY.   His three sisters, Ruth M. Fitzgerald, of Syracuse, NY, Cara (Stanford) Price, of Cicero, NY and Rebecca M. (John) Sidorakis, of Pennellville, NY.; and one brother Stephen B. Mossman, of Flagstaff, AZ; Uncles Dean W. Baker of Saranac Lake, NY and Paul W. Baker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, seven nieces, three nephews, three grand nephews, one grand nieceand his beloved German shepherd, Karma.

A memorial service will be held at Abundant Life Christian Center, 7000 All Nations Blvd., East Syracuse, NY on September 19th, 2023 at 10 am.
