Meredith Mancini, of DeWitt, NY, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2025. A graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High School, Meredith attended the College of Boca Raton in Florida before studying Human Services and Social Work at Empire State University. She later earned her Registered Nursing degree from Onondaga Community College, beginning a second career in health care and working in various hospitals and nursing facilities.
Meredith was the founder of Magic Circle Children’s Theatre, a unique interactive theater where children in the audience were invited to participate in the performance. She wrote, directed, produced, and performed in her original plays. The theater ran for over 25 years in the Syracuse area and became a beloved part of the local arts community. In addition to her work in theater and nursing,
Meredith was devoted to her beloved dogs and had a lifelong affection for animals. Her care and compassion extended to every part of her life—from the children she entertained to the patients she comforted to the pets she cherished.
Meredith was predeceased by her daughter, Harper Lily Carroll, and her former husband, Cameron Carroll.
She is survived by her parents, Hope and DJ Mancini; her sister, Hilken Mancini-MacBain (Andy); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
