Philip Garner

Philip N. Garner, 81, of Fulton, NY went home to the Lord on March 9, 2022 in Oswego, NY. We would like to deeply thank all those who cared for Phil while in Oswego Hospital. 

Philip was born April 10, 1940 in Syracuse, NY to Lawrence and Lovina (Evans) Garner. He graduated high school from Pulaski Academy in Pulaski NY, attended Syracuse University and worked for Crouse Hinds Corporation, Muench-Kreuzer Candle Co. and with special needs adults and at-risk youth. He was an angel on earth who became a father to many of these youth. He was an officer in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Phil owned 125-acre farm in Parish NY where he had many beautiful appaloosa horses and shared many wonderful times there with family. 

Phil was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence and Lovina Garner; brothers: Larry, Gary, Richard, Harry Garner.  Adopted son, Robert Carnegie. 

He is survived by his adopted children, Joseph Munger, Robert Perry and his grandchildren: Kendrea Petrie, Zenia Petrie, Skye Perry, Alysia Smith, Devon Petrie, Alektra Clark and Wyett Clark. Great grandchildren: Payton and Kiersten Parkhurst. Their mom/grandmother, Sally Petrie. Sisters: Lovina Markee, Sharon Fehlman (Dan). Brother, Dan Garner (Viki). Many nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved and will be missed by everyone for his extremely kind and giving heart! 

On March 26th at 3 pm, a Military Honor Guard will be held at St. Mary’s cemetery and a prayer service by Methodist Pastor Jefferson Niles at 3:30 pm. Following at 5 pm will be a Life Celebration at the Fulton Polish Home for Phil’s family & friends. 

Memorials may be given to Hillbrook Center or American Cancer Society.
