Phyllis M. (Buhrnsen) Kapilla

Phyllis M. (Buhrnsen) Kapilla, passed away Wednesday June 11, 2025 at the Cunningham at Loretto. Phyllis was born on March 16,1938 to the late Dorothy and Harvey Buhrnsen.

Phyllis was a homemaker and previously was employed by JC Penney and King and King Architects. She loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed reading, coffee, flowers, a good glass of wine, and kitties, especially, Friskie.

Survivors to cherish her memory are her children, Janette Scott, Joseph (Lori), Mathew (Tami), Carmiel (Ellen), Rebecca (John) Rooke, and Marcus (Bethany). Also, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and her niece, Susanna (Arthur) Medrano and family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Barbara Klump. her daughter, Deborah, her son, Steven, and her daughters in law, Terry and Katie. As per Phyllis' request, there will be no services, and the family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff on the 8th floor at the Cunningham for caring for our loving mother.
