TSG Richard Arlen Domingue, Sr., known lovingly as Dick or Dad, of East Syracuse, passed away on December 10, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Richard was born on July 30, 1934, in Syracuse, New York. At just 17 years old, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he went on to serve with honor, including a tour in Vietnam. He retired in 1974 after a distinguished career and often shared that he would gladly serve his country all over again.
While stationed in Germany for four years, Richard served as a Commissioner with the Boy Scouts, a role he cherished. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he returned to Syracuse with his wife and children and continued his career as a civilian employee at NETSC AUTODIN.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Francisca Domingue; his children Diana (Sam) Watson and Anne Marie (Michael) Domingue-Kratz; and his beloved grandchildren Parris and Brandon.
He was predeceased by his parents, Victor Domingue and Treva Sanford, and by his son, Richard A. “Richie” Domingue, Jr.
A lifelong member of the East Syracuse Coin Club, Richard served as President for many years. He took great joy in collecting coins and stamps and shared his passion with many. He also treasured the lifelong friendship of Rick and Ginny Rushey, whose constant support and companionship brought him great comfort over the years.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Home Based Primary Care team at the VA for their compassionate support.
Calling hours December 17th from 4-7pm at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, 206 Kinne St., East Syracuse. Funeral service and burial will be December 18th at 11am at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
