Richard D. Gillette

Richard Dennis Gillette, 68, of Tully, New York, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, surrounded by family. Born April 2, 1957, to Russell and Elaine Gillette, Rick proudly served as a Navy Corpsman aboard the USS Trenton and USS Shreveport, and with the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines (USMC) before working many years as a Registered Nurse.

Rick’s greatest joy in life was time spent with his son, Logan, whether watching Deadliest Catch together or hunting on their property. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his quiet strength, and the love he carried for his family. 

He is survived by his son, Logan Gillette; his wife and lifelong friend, Doreen Gillette; his mother, Elaine Gillette; brothers, Gary (Lainey) Gillette and Ken (Grace) Gillette; sister, Susan (Mark); and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Russell Gillette. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Lafayette VFW Post 1955, US-11, Lafayette, NY 13084
