Richard W. Wilcox

Bridgeport, NY resident, Richard W. Wilcox, passed away on Thursday, July 1, at his home. 

Rick was born July 13, 1956 in Syracuse NY to Norma and William Wilcox.  Rick was a resourceful and resilient man, remembered for being a good friend, a loving father and Papa.  He loved Harley’s, hot rods, Virginia Beach, camping and spending time with loved ones.  

Rick was loved by all that had the good fortune of making his acquaintance, which was impossible not to do if you got within talking distance of him. Everywhere he went he made friends, from camping all through New York to visiting different locations such as San Diego,  Virginia Beach, Florida, and Jamaica. 

He was an active member of the VFW, enjoyed all facets of membership, and was a committed volunteer for the famous Chicken BBQ at the local chapter 8440.    

He is preceded in death by his parents Norma and William Wilcox, his sister Renee Wilcox, and his brother Timothy Wilcox.  

He is survived by his wife of 29 years Marie Wilcox, his four children; Christopher Wilcox (Tonya), Jim Wilcox, Jennifer Zolnik (Justin), Mandi Hales (Daryl) and three step children; Jackie Euson, Shawn Euson, and Jason Euson (Amy).

He is survived by 13 Grandchildren; Audrey Wilcox, Devon Wilcox, Madeline Wilcox, Isabella Zolnik, Mckenzie Zolnik, Licia Wilcox, Bridgete Wilcox, Brianna Hales, Brittany Euson, Haylee Roberts, Karlie Roberts, Ethan Euson, Alivia Euson, and 4 Great Grandchildren; Kaileb Euson, Kaisel Burdick, DestryRoberts and Avayah Bezio.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 10 at the Bridgeport VFW from 2:00followed by a remembrance bonfire at the home of Mandi and Daryl Hales, 267 County Route 26, West Monroe.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS CAN BE MADE TO HOSPICE OF CENTRAL NEW YORK IN RICHARD’S MEMORY.
